Speaking on protecting women and children in conflict zones
Women and girls do not usually start wars or have the power to end them, but they suffer disproportionately when conflict hits.
In Gaza nearly 70% of those killed over the last 6 months were women and children.
In a Parliamentary Debate on the Impact of Conflict on Women and Girls I asked the Minister to commit funding directed to women and children in conflict zones and for the UK’s voice to be vocal, clear and consistent in its condemnation of violations and abuses against all civilians, including women.
