Liberal Democrats dedicated to transforming mental health services

When Jo Swinson visited Hinchley Wood School, there was a lot of discussion with students about their mental health experiences and ways to improve support for young people. What came across was a need to transform the way our NHS provides mental health services. Jo Swinson talked to students about how their mental health should be treated in the same was as their physical health.

“If you go to A&E with a broken leg you will be seen straight away. If you go with a mental health crisis, the support is not there in the same way,”: she said.

A Liberal Democrat government has pledged to invest £11 billion in mental health services to ensure that mental health is treated with the same urgency as physical health. Learn more
