My Prime Minister Question on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

At PMQs I asked the Government to take immediate action to address the crisis in Surrey in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities funding.

I meet children and their families every week in my surgeries who are unable to access education, at home rather than school, for months, sometimes years, sometimes sliding into depression. Parents are struggling to hold down their jobs as they stay at home to look after them. Headteachers have also reached out asking for more resource as they struggle to support children with special needs.

It’s a national scandal that we are failing our children like this. Vulnerable children are being failed by a broken system. We need to fix it.

I’ll keep pushing the Government and Surrey County Council on behalf on the children and families in my constituency who are being let down.
