“Fourteen million people live below the poverty line in the UK”
It’s time to end the need for Foodbanks
Foodbank use has been rising dramatically. It’s an an utter failure of our government. I am campaigning for fairness and compassion.
Join my campaign to end the need for Foodbanks.
Foodbanks should not be needed in Esher and Walton. We are major, wealthy, developed nation.
The Russel Trust, the UK’s largest charity providing the majority of food banks in the UK. They have told us that they provided nearly 160,000 3 day emergency food supplies in December 2017, a 49% increase from Christmas 2016. The Russel Trust provided over 650,000 emergency food supplies to people in crisis between April and September 2018, up from 500,000 the year before. In December 2017, over 65,000 children were supported by foodbanks. No family should be forced to turn to a food bank in the 6th largest economy in the world. December 2018 is expected to be the busiest month for food bank use ever. People in work should earn enough money to buy essentials like food. Dominic Raab thinks it doesn’t matter, but I think politicians should be honest and act with integrity.
I’m going to work to end food bank use in Esher and Walton.
Whose with me?
